Premier Ontario fishing lodge finds local buyers to continue legacy
For over 40 years, Anderson’s Lodge has offered all-inclusive vacation packages to fishing enthusiasts from across Canada and the US. Located in Sioux Lookout, Ontario and nestled on Abram's Lake, the lodge offers access to eight surrounding lakes with several fish species.
While the business has long been established as a premier Canadian fishing resort, the owners at Anderson’s lodge felt the time was right to start a new chapter. One was seeking to retire, and the other was looking to pursue other interests. Knowing their business catered to a niche customer base, they wanted experienced advisors to help them market the business and optimize their potential for finding the right buyer.
With niche businesses, the sales process can often face specific complexities. Our M&A advisors ran a streamlined process that catered to the owners needs and allowed them to find a local buyer that shared their passion for offering unique fishing vacations. The M&A team supported the owners throughout the transaction, from taking the business to market to helping the deal close smoothly.
Local buyers Walleye Point Corporation came forward and it soon became clear they were the right fit. They shared Anderson Lodge’s vision of maintaining the premier service offering that guests have come to enjoy. Additionally, they’re focused on building a sustainable future through their fishing practices and aim to compete with angling experiences across North America.
