With over 20 years of experience, I’ve built my career supporting innovative startups, particularly in the medical and technology sectors. I help clients achieve their funding goals with SR&ED tax incentives across a wide range of industries, specializing in medical research, pharmaceuticals, biosciences, manufacturing, engineering, and software. My approach with clients is deeply rooted in science and technology, a thorough understanding of government incentive programs, and a unique ability to translate complex technical projects into compelling business narratives.
Previously, my PhD from the University of Karlsruhe led me to a career as a scientist—and later with an MBA at the University of Alberta, I co-led a large strategic initiate at the Government of Alberta aimed at bringing innovation to the traditional industry sectors. A few years later, I co-founded a medical device startup alongside two senior engineers and led funding initiatives and successfully secured multiple grants and strategic partnerships. I also ran a consulting firm specializing in government grants and regulatory approvals. Although no longer formally conducting research, my passion for scientific innovation remains strong. Today, my role combines my scientific curiosity, commercial mindset, and passion for helping innovative companies grow, aligning my professional strengths and personal values.
Beyond my professional work, I’ve served as an expert reviewer for the Ontario Centre of Innovation. I’ve also evaluated high-impact science and technology ventures as an investment expert for the EIC Accelerator. You can often find me sharing insights on how SR&ED can support business growth through LinkedIn, webinars, and speaking engagements at industry events.
I actively contribute to my community through volunteer leadership with many local organizations. I also enjoy staying active and starting each day with movement, whether it's yoga, strength training, cycling, or simply stretching. One of my favorite traditions is hosting Sunday dinner with my family, bringing everyone together before the start of a new week.
