Heath Moore

Connection is a significant part of my role—from building meaningful relationships with clients to developing strong bonds with my team, people are at the core of everything I do as Executive Partner and CEO of Doane Grant Thornton. I'm deeply committed to the communities where Doane Grant Thornton’s people live and work and to fostering collaborative, client focused leadership alongside our National Management Committee, Senior Leadership Team, and Partnership Board. As a long-standing member of the firm, I’m proud to have contributed to the award-winning culture that we have today—one that is shaped by our purpose to help our clients, colleagues, and communities thrive.

Doane Grant Thornton's cultivation of shared leadership allowed me to grow my career within the firm after starting in our assurance practice in Dartmouth, NS. I soon moved to our tax team in Halifax where I spent more than 20 years working closely with business owners and their families. I also had the privilege of serving on Doane Grant Thornton’s Partnership Board for six years while being the Nova Scotia Tax Leader. From there, I went on to hold several senior leadership roles, including serving as the the Managing Partner for Nova Scotia, overseeing the province’s 11 office locations and as National Tax Leader, where I advised colleagues and clients on tax strategy and planning, and most notably, acted as an advocate for our clients concerning government and public policy issues. Most recently, I was the Regional Managing Partner for Atlantic Canada, where I led a team of highly skilled and diverse business advisors in supporting a wide range of private and public organizations. I find it deeply rewarding to work with colleagues across Canada to help clients preserve and grow value through sound strategic planning. Throughout my career, I’ve been inspired by countless talented and dedicated professionals and was fortunate to learn from—and grow with—each of them.

Outside of the business world, I take on challenges that allow me to stay active and support my community. I have served as a board member with the Halifax Chamber of Commerce and the Halifax Grammar School. I have a wonderful family with three children that keep me busy. I have coached youth basketball for a number of years and spend as much time outdoors in the summer with family and friends as possible. There is no such thing as a day that is too hot or too sunny!
