As a Partner in Domestic Income Tax, I help business owners, high-net-worth individuals, and estates navigate Canada’s complex tax landscape and achieve their goals through thoughtful planning and smart structuring. My work focuses on maximizing wealth by designing effective succession and estate plans, optimizing compensation strategies, and advising on major transactions—from incorporations to business sales.
I take a holistic approach to every engagement, collaborating closely with our clients’ other advisors to deliver practical, well-rounded solutions that evolve as their needs and ambitions grow.
I’m passionate about sharing knowledge and advancing the tax profession. I regularly speak on a range of tax topics for organizations such as the Canadian Tax Foundation, have facilitated group study sessions for the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Program, and served as an instructor for Ontario Tech University's accounting graduate diploma program.
My career began at a local Peterborough firm before our team joined the Doane Grant Thornton family in 2018. Growing up in nearby Cobourg, I value community deeply and stay actively involved as treasurer for Employment Planning & Counselling Peterborough, and the Peterborough Estate Planning Council. I am also part of several community groups and enjoy supporting local initiatives that make a difference.
Outside of work, I enjoy time with my wife and young children, staying active, playing guitar, and exploring the beautiful roads of the Kawarthas on my motorcycle.
