I help my clients understand their tax obligations and how that influences succession and estate planning as well as compliance and other aspects of their business. Working primarily with privately held businesses across a wide range of sizes in Truro and Halifax, I assist clients throughout Nova Scotia. I’ve also developed specialized knowledge in onshore wind farm partnerships across Canada, as well as professional partnerships and law firms.
Clients appreciate my holistic approach to their needs. It’s important that when people come to you for advice that they feel heard and seen, which helps to build trusting and long-lasting connections. I make an effort to ensure my clients are comfortable during our conversations so we can work towards their goals together.
Growing up in Truro, I wanted to be a CPA since high school, and it’s been rewarding to be on a career journey that involves helping business owners succeed. I’ve enjoyed growing my expertise working with family business and understanding the unique dynamics that are often at play. I’ve learned that the definition of a successful family business is one where all parties are happy and thriving. To help others follow in my footsteps and succeed in this profession, I mentor CPA students in the firm and am a tutor in CPA Canada’s In-Depth Tax Program.
Outside the office, you’ll find me either hiking with my husband, kids, and dogs if it’s summer, or on the slopes as a family (minus the dog) on snowboards in winter. Taking the time to enjoy our beautiful province together is important to me.
