Prime Minister Mark Carney announces support for Canada’s lumber industry citing heavy reliance on US exports and vulnerability to trade policies.
Through overseeing the US personal tax practice for Atlantic Canada, I help clients navigate the complexities of Canadian and US cross-border tax, including annual compliance, sales of US property, estate planning, and the process of renunciation. Assisting our clients with their cross-border moves has also become a major focus, including implications surrounding both Canadian and US residency for tax purposes, and managing assets across countries.
I qualified as a Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant after graduating from Saint Mary’s University where I earned my Bachelor of Commerce with a double major in Accounting and Human Resource Management and Industrials Relations, and a minor in Psychology. I also completed CPA Canada’s In-Depth tax program which provides me with a unique insight regarding taxpayers’ US tax situations with a Canadian perspective.
In my spare time, I enjoy being outside with my two young children, reading, and playing the piano.
